Craig Shubert joins Sen. Jon Husted, Treasurer Robert Sprague, others for 93rd Annual Lincoln Day Event

AKRON – Excessive government regulation continues to burden America’s small businesses, driving up costs for consumers and threatening the survival of family-owned operations. That was the message delivered by U.S. Senator Jon Husted, keynote speaker at today’s 93rd Lincoln Day Luncheon.

Speaking before a packed audience, Senator Husted highlighted the U.S. Senate’s recent vote to repeal a Biden Administration refrigeration rule that imposed costly mandates on small, family-owned grocery stores across the country. Husted warned that unnecessary regulations not only increase operating expenses but also place hometown businesses at risk of closure.

The message strongly resonated with former Hudson Mayor Craig Shubert, the Republican nominee for Ohio’s 34th House District.

“Government overreach has a real and lasting impact on businesses and hardworking Ohio families,” Shubert said following the luncheon. “Costly regulations make it harder for small companies to grow, invest, and hire new employees. Even worse, excessive mandates create uncertainty that can threaten jobs and family livelihoods.”

The Lincoln Day Luncheon drew more than 300 attendees from Summit County and surrounding communities, including numerous Republican candidates appearing on the November ballot. Shubert’s campaign continues to focus on policies aimed at creating jobs, growing paychecks, lowering taxes, expanding access to world-class

education, and modernizing Ohio’s infrastructure to keep the state competitive for future generations.
