COLUMBUS – Former Hudson Mayor Craig Shubert is the Republican nominee for Ohio’s 34th House District seat. According to unofficial final results from the Ohio Secretary of State’s Office, Shubert earned 6,154 votes to secure the GOP nomination. He will face first-term Democratic incumbent Derrick Hall of Akron in the November general election.

“I’m deeply grateful for the trust voters have placed in me,” Shubert said. “I’ll continue working every day to earn their support, fight for our communities, and deliver results for the families of the 34th District. Now we turn our attention to November. This campaign is about bringing people together, building strong coalitions, and advancing commonsense solutions that strengthen our economy, support working families, and keep our communities strong.”

Craig Shubert built strong support among conservative primary voters across the Summit County district, including Akron, Hudson, Munroe Falls, Silver Lake, Stow, and Tallmadge. Throughout the campaign, he focused on job creation, economic growth, and property tax relief.

“To create more jobs and bigger paychecks in Ohio, we must lower costs, cut burdensome regulations, and make our state the best place in the country to start and grow a business,” Shubert said.

He also made property tax relief a central issue in the campaign.

“Ohio families and seniors are being squeezed by rising property taxes,” Shubert said. “While recent action by the General Assembly is a step in the right direction, more must be done. My plan delivers meaningful relief for seniors while protecting taxpayers and maintaining a strong state budget.”
